Call to check current availability. Los Angeles service eligibility is unverified for all categories below. Availability must be checked for your exact location. A suitable provider, equipment and permitted access must be confirmed before a request can be accepted. For immediate danger, a fire or a medical emergency, call 911.
Start with the right Los Angeles resource
If a parked vehicle is missing, check whether it has already been towed before requesting a new tow. LADOT's official parking-enforcement page links to the Official Police Garages vehicle search. That search accepts a plate and state or a VIN. Use the official lookup and follow the identified garage's release instructions before discussing onward transport. A roadside inquiry does not release a vehicle from impound.

For a non-emergency freeway breakdown, LA Metro directs motorists to dial 511 and request “Motorist Aid.” Its Freeway Service Patrol uses designated off-freeway drop locations; a home or chosen repair shop is outside that patrol tow's destination choice. If the patrol has moved your vehicle, give any prospective onward provider the new pickup point. Check the program's current coverage and operating information directly. Rezcues access to any freeway or managed lane must be confirmed separately.

Details that make your inquiry usable
- The current street address and nearest intersection, or freeway, direction and nearest exit you already know
- Whether the vehicle is on a street, ramp, managed lane, parking level or private property
- The garage entrance, level, posted clearance and access contact, where applicable
- The year, make, model, drivetrain and what the vehicle is doing now
- Whether it rolls, steers and brakes, and any visible damage
- Your callback number and intended destination if transport is needed
Use details you can provide safely. A neighborhood name alone may leave the pickup point unclear. If an authority has already arranged assistance or moved the vehicle, say so at the beginning of the call.
Ten service categories to ask about
Light-duty towing
For a car that cannot continue, describe its condition and where it needs to go. Mention low clearance, all-wheel drive, an electric drivetrain or damage. For a garage pickup, provide access details before discussing a tow. Ask whether the vehicle, equipment, pickup and receiving destination can be accepted together.
Battery jump starts
Describe the no-start symptoms rather than guessing that the battery is the cause. Identify the vehicle as gasoline, diesel, hybrid or electric and mention displayed warnings. Ask whether a jump-start assessment is appropriate and what the next option would be if it does not start. A successful start does not resolve every electrical fault.
Flat tire assistance
Say which tire is affected and whether a usable spare and wheel-lock key are available. Ask whether a spare change can be considered at the exact location. Tire repair, replacement stock and mobile fitting need separate confirmation. If a change is unsuitable, discuss a tow and a destination that can receive the vehicle.
Vehicle lockouts
Explain whether the key is inside, lost or not being recognized. Entry assistance, replacement keys and programming are different requests. Ask what ownership or permission evidence is needed for the actual vehicle. If someone is trapped and in danger, call 911 rather than waiting on an ordinary lockout inquiry.
Emergency fuel
Provide the known fuel type and describe how the vehicle stopped. Ask whether delivery can be considered at the pickup point and what would happen if the vehicle still will not run. Mention a wrong-fuel incident, leakage or other damage immediately. Fuel delivery does not establish an EV charging option.
Motorcycle towing
Give the motorcycle's make, model and condition, including whether it rolls and whether the steering is locked. Describe a trike, sidecar or other modification. Confirm suitable loading and securing equipment and the receiving destination. Rider transportation and storage require their own arrangements.
Winch-out
Describe where the vehicle is stuck, the surface, slope, visible damage and access route. Report water or other hazards. A provider must assess the situation and equipment before accepting recovery work. Ask whether any later transport is part of the proposed job. This page gives no instructions for attaching or operating recovery equipment.
EV towing
Give the exact model, displayed warnings and remaining charge if known. Ask for transport compatible with the manufacturer's guidance. A proposed charging destination also needs to be suitable and accessible. Mobile charging and high-voltage repair are unverified. Report collision damage, flooding, smoke or unusual heat, and contact emergency services for immediate danger.
Medium-duty towing
For a work van or larger commercial vehicle, provide known specifications, height, weight information and load details. Mention any trailer, modifications or damage. Confirm equipment suitability and any cargo-related restrictions before accepting help. A label such as box truck does not establish capacity, and no Los Angeles weight range is confirmed here.
Motor Clubs, Insurance & Fleets
If a benefit program or business is involved, explain who can authorize the job and any required reference or purchase order. Check your program's instructions before agreeing to separate assistance. Reimbursement, direct billing, fleet contracts and integrations require confirmation; listing this category does not establish an arrangement with your organization.
Before agreeing to assistance
Ask which provider has accepted the request, what work is included, the total quote, the destination and how any extra work would be authorized. Confirm an arrival estimate only for the accepted request. Do not treat a phone inquiry as a confirmed dispatch.
Can I arrange transport after a freeway patrol tow?
Tell the call handler that the vehicle has already been moved, give its current position and explain your preferred destination. Availability and equipment still need to be checked for the onward trip.
Can help enter my garage or restricted property?
Give the entrance, level, clearance and site contact first. The site's permission and the provider's access and equipment must be confirmed. This page does not establish access rights.
Do I have to diagnose the problem first?
No. Describe what you observed and any warnings already visible. That is enough to begin an inquiry.
