Fuel-delivery requests when the tank is empty

If you believe the vehicle has run out of fuel, call to ask whether a suitable fuel-delivery option is available. Describe what happened, your exact location and the vehicle's fuel requirement. If you are unsure whether the problem is an empty tank, say so; a fuel delivery will not resolve every reason an engine stops.

Have the year, make and model ready and specify gasoline, diesel or another fuel type from the vehicle's information. Tell the call handler about access restrictions and whether the vehicle is on a roadway, in a parking area or in a garage. Report any known wrong-fuel incident or visible leakage rather than treating it as a routine refill.
