Service eligibility in Indianapolis is unverified for every category below. Ask whether your specific vehicle, location and requested task can be considered before relying on a service plan. A phone inquiry does not confirm acceptance or arrival. For an immediate danger or emergency, contact emergency services first.
Indianapolis highway and trip-planning contacts
INDOT directs requests for its Hoosier Helpers patrol through 1-855-INDOT4U. Its call center checks whether the location is within a patrol area before transferring the request to the traffic management center. Dispatch remains the agency's decision. Give the interstate, direction and nearest known exit or marker rather than assuming an Indianapolis address identifies patrol coverage. Official information: https://www.in.gov/indot/indot4u/
For a planned onward trip, INDOT's travel information page links to 511IN for closures, road conditions and width or weight restrictions. Its commercial-vehicle view can be relevant when discussing a larger vehicle. These are route-information resources, not a booking or permission to use a restricted route. Share any relevant restriction with the operator reviewing the request. Official information: https://www.in.gov/indot/travel-conditions/travel-information/
If an authority has already moved the vehicle, establish its current location before asking for another tow. Rezcues is not presented here as an impound locator or as part of INDOT's patrol. Ask the holding facility or responsible authority about release and collection arrangements directly.
Ten service categories to discuss
Light-duty towing
If a passenger vehicle needs transport, provide the pickup address and intended destination, then explain whether it starts, rolls or has visible collision damage. Tell the call handler about missing keys or a wheel that will not move. Ask whether a light-duty request can be considered for that vehicle and site; a short distance does not by itself confirm suitability.
Battery jump starts
A no-start condition is useful information, but it does not establish that a jump start will solve the problem. Describe the dashboard response, the vehicle's powertrain and whether another attempt has already been made. If the car is inside a garage, include its level and clearance. Ask about assessment and compatibility without requesting a particular connection or repair method.
Flat tire assistance
Explain which tire is affected and whether a usable spare and the vehicle's wheel-lock key are available. Mention visible wheel damage or more than one affected tire. The location and condition may make transport a better question than an on-site tire change. Let the person reviewing the request determine what can be considered; this page does not provide tire-changing instructions.
Vehicle lockouts
Say whether the key is inside the vehicle, missing or not being recognized. Give the make, model and year so access suitability can be reviewed. Be prepared to discuss your authority to access the vehicle through the provider's process. A lockout inquiry does not include an assurance of key replacement, electronic programming or entry to every vehicle.
Emergency fuel
Tell the call handler the exact fuel type required and what leads you to think the vehicle has run out. Report suspected wrong fuel or a leak rather than treating every stalled engine as an empty tank. Ask whether fuel assistance is eligible at the actual pickup point. Fuel delivery, quantity and the ability to restart are not established by this page.
Motorcycle towing
Provide the motorcycle's make, model and approximate size, plus any sidecar, luggage or modifications that affect handling. Explain whether it rolls and whether there is damage. A request for a motorcycle needs a separate suitability check from a passenger-car tow. Include access details for the place where the motorcycle is standing and the proposed receiving location.
Winch-out
Describe the vehicle's position and the surface around it without attempting a recovery. Explain whether it is off the pavement, obstructed or damaged, and whether a property owner controls access. A winch-out request requires review of the actual situation; it is not a promise that a vehicle can be recovered from any slope, ditch or private site.
EV towing
Identify the electric vehicle model and whether the issue is low charge, a warning message, collision damage or another failure. Say if it is connected to charging equipment or cannot be placed into its usual transport state. The provider must assess model-specific handling. An EV tow inquiry does not imply mobile charging, battery repair or permission to enter a charging facility.
Medium-duty towing
For a work truck, van or other larger vehicle, give the vehicle classification, dimensions and loaded condition if known. Mention equipment fitted to it and any trailer. Ask for a separate eligibility review rather than assuming the light-duty category applies. If onward travel involves a reported restriction, include that information when discussing the destination and collection plan.
Motor Clubs, Insurance & Fleets
Have the relevant case reference and the organization contact that can authorize the request. Explain whether assistance has already been assigned. Ask your club, insurer or fleet manager about its approval process before assuming reimbursement or direct billing. Listing this category does not establish a Rezcues agreement with any organization or permission to duplicate an existing dispatch.
Prepare a useful call
For a garage or gated lot, report the entrance, level, posted clearance and contact who can arrange access. Do not send an operator to a mailing address when the vehicle entrance is elsewhere. If the receiving shop or facility has not agreed to accept the vehicle, say so. Keep the pickup location, requested task and destination as three separate details.
