Call to check current availability. Houston service eligibility is unverified for all ten categories below. Availability must be checked for your exact location. The vehicle, equipment, access and provider acceptance must be confirmed for each request. For immediate danger, a fire or a medical emergency, call 911.
Freeway clearance and the trip after it
Houston's official Tow and Go information gives 713-881-3333 for program assistance. The program deals with qualifying freeway breakdowns and movement to an off-freeway location. Transport beyond that drop point is a separate arrangement. Tell any prospective provider if Tow and Go or law enforcement is already involved, and confirm where an onward pickup should occur.

Identify whether you are on a freeway, frontage road, tollway or managed lane. Ask the responsible road authority about the exact segment instead of assuming one program covers them all. Tow and Go's official FAQ directs breakdowns on HCTRA tollways, including Sam Houston and Westpark, to 281-584-7500. A Rezcues inquiry does not establish authorization to enter a managed road or take over an authority-directed clearance.

If your vehicle has already been towed
Houston Police's vehicle-tow FAQ directs owners to the tow line at 713-308-8580 or the vehicle lookup linked from that page. Have a plate or VIN available. Locate the vehicle and confirm the holding facility's release process before asking anyone to collect it. Locating an existing tow is a different task from requesting roadside help at a breakdown.

Information to have ready
- The exact pickup point, travel direction and nearest exit or intersection you already know
- Whether the vehicle remains at the breakdown or has been moved elsewhere
- Any police, road-authority or property contact already involved
- The vehicle's year, make, model and drivetrain, and what happened
- Whether it rolls, steers and brakes, plus any damage or water exposure
- A garage entrance, clearance or gate contact where relevant
- Your callback number and proposed destination
Use information available from a safe position. Do not approach traffic, water or damaged equipment to gather details. The initial call can begin with what you know.
Ten service categories to ask about
Light-duty towing
Describe the car's condition and proposed destination. Mention damage, an electric drivetrain, all-wheel drive, low clearance or other transport considerations. If freeway clearance has changed the pickup point, provide the new address before discussing an onward tow. Confirm equipment suitability, access and receiving arrangements for the actual trip.
Battery jump starts
Explain the symptoms of a vehicle that will not start, including any warnings. Say whether it is gasoline, diesel, hybrid or electric. Ask whether a jump-start assessment can be considered and what alternatives apply if it remains disabled. A successful start alone does not confirm that an underlying battery or charging fault is fixed.
Flat tire assistance
State which tire is affected and whether you have a usable spare and any required wheel-lock key. Ask whether the location and vehicle permit a spare change. Repair, replacement stock and mobile tire fitting are separate capabilities to verify. If the vehicle has already been cleared from a freeway, use its current position for the inquiry.
Vehicle lockouts
Explain whether the keys are inside, missing or not being recognized. Ask about suitable entry assistance and what evidence of ownership or permission is required. Key cutting and programming are separate requests. If a person is locked in and in danger, call 911 first.
Emergency fuel
Provide the correct fuel type if known and describe how the vehicle stopped. Ask whether fuel delivery is appropriate at the exact location and what will happen if the vehicle does not restart. Disclose incorrect fueling, leakage or visible damage. An emergency-fuel inquiry does not establish EV charging capability.
Motorcycle towing
Give the make, model and condition, including whether the motorcycle rolls and whether the steering is locked. Mention a trike, sidecar or modifications. Confirm loading and securing equipment, pickup access and destination. Rider transportation, storage and repairs require separate confirmation.
Winch-out
Describe the vehicle's position, surface, slope, access route and visible damage. Tell the call handler about water exposure or nearby hazards. The provider must assess the recovery and equipment before accepting work; no flood-recovery capability is established here. Ask whether subsequent transport is included, and contact emergency services for immediate danger.
EV towing
Give the exact model and any warnings or remaining charge already visible. Request a transport method consistent with the manufacturer's instructions. Confirm suitability and access before choosing a charging site as the destination. Mobile charging and high-voltage repair remain unverified. Report flooding, collision damage, smoke or unusual heat promptly.
Medium-duty towing
For a larger van or commercial vehicle, provide known specifications, current load, dimensions and any trailer. Say who can authorize the work and where the vehicle should go. Equipment capacity, cargo-related limits and access must be assessed for the particular vehicle. No Houston weight range or recovery capacity is promised by this category.
Motor Clubs, Insurance & Fleets
If an organization or benefit program is paying or coordinating, identify the approving contact and required process. Check any existing authorization before arranging separate service, especially if another responder is already involved. Reimbursement, direct billing, fleet agreements and integrations are unverified and need their own discussion.
Questions before you agree to work
Can I ask for a tow to my preferred repair shop after freeway clearance?
Yes, you can ask. Give the current off-freeway pickup point and the shop details. Confirm that a suitable provider accepts the trip and that the shop can receive the vehicle before agreeing to transport.
Does this page confirm tollway or managed-lane access?
No. Identify the exact road and lane when contacting the authority and any prospective provider. Follow the responsible responder's instructions and confirm the permitted pickup point.
What if I only know the vehicle was towed?
Use HPD's lookup guidance to establish its location first. Contact the identified facility about release and collection requirements before arranging further transport.
What should the quote cover?
Ask about the agreed work, destination, total and any circumstances that could change the scope. Confirm how additional work would be approved. Ask whether a provider has accepted the request and whether a request-specific arrival estimate is available.
