Roadside assistance in Chicago, Illinois

Do you need help with a vehicle you can locate, or are you trying to find one that has been moved? Establishing that first can save an unnecessary towing inquiry. For a vehicle problem in Chicago, call Rezcues at +1 406 501 6962 with the current pickup point, vehicle details and what happened.

Call to check current availability. Chicago service eligibility is unverified for every category on this page. Availability must be checked for your exact location. A request depends on suitable equipment, permitted access and a provider accepting the actual work. Call 911 for immediate danger, a fire or a medical emergency.

Finding a vehicle the city may have moved

Chicago's official vehicle search includes both city relocations and police tows. You can search by license plate or VIN. It covers vehicles moved by the city; a private tow may not appear. Check the result's current location before arranging pickup or transport. A missing result does not establish that no tow occurred. A Rezcues roadside inquiry cannot determine an impound release or replace the responsible authority's process.

When the breakdown is on the Illinois Tollway

The Illinois Tollway directs motorists to *999 for roadway assistance and 911 for emergencies. Give the roadway, travel direction and nearest known milepost. Its towing guidance explains that an unsafe position or blocked traffic lane can require authority-directed removal. If an officer or Tollway responder is already handling the incident, coordinate the pickup location with them before arranging another tow. These instructions concern the Illinois Tollway system; they are not a citywide service number or proof of Rezcues authorization on that system.

Describe the pickup point clearly

For a street pickup, give the address and intersection, including any level designation shown in your location information. For a parking facility, report the entrance street, floor or level, posted clearance and access contact. For a roadway, identify the road and direction rather than only saying you are in Chicago. Provide details already available to you; do not enter traffic to obtain a milepost or inspect a vehicle label.

Also have the vehicle's year, make, model, drivetrain, symptoms and callback number ready. Explain whether it rolls, steers or brakes. If another party has already moved it, use the new location and explain what has happened so far.

Ten service categories to discuss

Light-duty towing

Ask about transport for the particular car and its condition. Give the destination and disclose damage, low clearance, all-wheel drive or an electric drivetrain. Check that the pickup is accessible and the destination can receive the vehicle. If it is in an impound facility, establish release arrangements with that facility before proposing collection.

Battery jump starts

For a no-start problem, describe the sounds, lights or warnings you observed. Identify the vehicle type and whether the keys are available. A battery-related assessment may be considered, but a jump start is not a diagnosis or a promise that the vehicle will keep running. Ask about alternatives if it remains disabled.

Flat tire assistance

Report the affected wheel, whether a usable spare is present and whether a wheel-lock key is needed. An on-site spare change depends on location and vehicle suitability. Ask separately about repair, replacement or mobile fitting. Without a usable spare, a transport inquiry may be needed instead.

Vehicle lockouts

Say whether the key is locked inside or whether it is missing, damaged or not recognized by the vehicle. Those circumstances may require different assistance. Confirm the proof of authority and vehicle compatibility required before accepting an entry service. A person trapped in immediate danger needs emergency assistance first.

Emergency fuel

Explain the known fuel type and what happened before the vehicle stopped. Ask whether delivery is appropriate and available at that pickup point. Wrong fuel, leakage and mechanical faults need separate assessment. Confirm the intended service and the next step if adding the correct fuel does not restore operation.

Motorcycle towing

Describe the motorcycle, including its condition, steering lock and any nonstandard configuration. Ask whether appropriate loading and securing equipment can be supplied. Confirm the pickup access and destination before agreeing to transport. Passenger travel, storage and repairs are separate questions.

Winch-out

A stuck vehicle needs an assessment of position, surface, slope, damage and equipment access. Explain any water or other hazard without approaching it to inspect. Ask what recovery work is being considered and whether transport afterward is included. Recovery capability for that situation is unverified until the provider confirms it.

EV towing

State the exact model, visible warnings and remaining charge if known. Ask the provider to check the manufacturer's transport guidance. A charging-site destination requires its own compatibility and access check. Do not assume mobile charging or high-voltage repair is included. Report damage, flooding, smoke or unusual heat immediately.

Medium-duty towing

Provide the commercial vehicle's specifications and known load information rather than relying on its body style. Include height, length, trailers and any damage that affects movement. Check equipment suitability, cargo restrictions, authority to approve the work and the receiving arrangements. This page does not establish a Chicago capacity or accepted weight range.

Motor Clubs, Insurance & Fleets

Identify your benefit program or organization and who can authorize work. Follow your program's process before booking separate assistance. Ask about any purchase-order, reporting or payment requirements. Direct billing, reimbursement and a continuing fleet relationship must be discussed and confirmed separately from the immediate vehicle inquiry.

Questions before a request is accepted

Can I request a tow from the city's relocated-vehicle address?

First confirm that you have found the right vehicle and its current location. Then describe its condition and access. If a facility controls its release, contact that facility before arranging collection.

Does a city name confirm coverage?

No. Supply the precise location and service needed. Provider availability, vehicle suitability and permission to reach the pickup point still require confirmation.

What should I confirm on the phone?

Ask whether a suitable provider has accepted the work, what the quoted total includes, where the vehicle will go and how additional work would be approved. An arrival estimate should be specific to that accepted request.

Can someone reach a lower parking level?

Report the entrance, level and posted clearance. Access permission and suitable equipment must be checked before the request can be accepted.
